TL/DR: Fuck that guy, and all who behave that way. Imagine yourself doing that in any other country in the world. What would you expect to happen to you? Deportation is at the mild end of the spectrum. Especially where that asshole came from.

Here's a controversial opinion for you: I am far more bothered by the recent deportation of the gay makeup artist for no apparent reason other than "suspicious" tattoos. In no way is this kid a criminal, and yet they sent him to the gang prison in El Salvador. He is from Venezuela, so it makes no sense. And he was still in the legal asylum application process, and a productive individual. But for some reason, the kerfuffle over the piece of shit "family man" from El Salvador, who looks more guilty as time goes on, gets ten times more political coverage than the gay kid.

I am old enough to have seen this idiotic dynamic play out so many times, usually with celebrity inmates who were supposedly wrongfully convicted. The likely Innocents get little love from politicians, celebrities, and the media, while the likely guilty become famous. I don't know why people are so dumb. Too many on the left want to spend millions studying root causes of crime, rather than punishing actual predators; and too many on the right can't see the problem with three-strikes policies in which a strike ranges from murder to petty theft. Virtue signaling is an unhealthy addiction that is hazardous to the health of democracies.

John, as you might imagine, the first of these revocation of student visas/green cards cases is designed to send a message to others. It is right message — don’t abuse the generosity of Americans to allow foreign students to study at American schools.

I have absolutely no problem deporting him back to his people. He obviously hates America, so I'm not sure why he's fighting to stay. I would assume he'd be happier in Syria with those of like-mind.

John, like you, I struggle between emotion and principles, but so too I recognize the existence of psychological dynamics that represent all ranges of dangerous egomania such as "the Jesus complex." Understanding of these psychological dynamics are age-old, not modern, and that is why common sense countermeasures exist: Social shunning, sacrificing a "lamb," quick "hard line" responses, etc.

I am old enough to have lived through the cultural turmoil of the sixties that fostered most of those who teach acceptance of this mans behavior , I believe Jane Fonda should not have been allowed back in this country. This young man from a priviledged family who made misstatements on his application for entry to this country then broke our laws should be sent home and never allowed to come back. the professors who encourage this kind of behavior should be removed from their positions . Our schools elementary middle and high schools are infected by those who have been indoctrinated by this anti-American attitudes . Clean the schools of the infection caused by Communism return our country to the land of the free , and if you cannot accept and join our society learn our language then go back home.

Ironically, I just read an article that shows that b/c Columbia changed their tune and arrested protestors, some minority students that have been accepted to Columbia for the fall are considering NOT attending b/c they see the arrests troubling. (not the pro-Palestine protests of course). So they may go elsewhere.....and ultimately spread their woke nonsense on other campuses? Or perhaps get some sense knocked into them. Who's to know.

But I really don't understand how these young "educated" women are getting caught up in this nonsense. Feminism was the scam for Gen X / Millennial women. Now weirdly Hamas/Pro-Palestine and Trans is the scam for Gen Z.

Government erosion of rights is a dangerous path indeed. Allowing radicals who hate your country, and who are radicalizing your children is also a very dangerous path to follow. Had he been a Citizen he should have been charged with the appropriate crimes and the correct processes followed. I have no issue with radical criminals with Green Cards being deported. They are not just engaging in criminal behavior - they are inciting others to the same behavior now and in the future. Its about time governments started acting sensibly.
