Great interview. I do want to say one more thing, though. None of the economics folks discussing tariffs have ever been involved in serious litigation, and I wonder if Lincicome has been involved. He's an attorney, but I did not hear anything indicating he has been. Trump has generally done well, given the situations he has been in.
Trump may not understand economics or the law, but he has a skill set I've never seen before. At least, I hope so.
It isn't like I know anything, but he may be inadvertently preserving the free trade system by putting China in a challenging situation. I think Trump will force everyone to take sides or get hit with tariffs that will disrupt their economies far more than the US's in most scenarios. As I said, it isn't like I know anything, but I know I don't trust most PhDs talking about these issues as they are political and in a sense, deal-making/litigation-type issues.
