Listen now | I sat down with anti-communist author Xi Van Fleet to learn about her upbringing under Mao’s Cultural Revolution and her concerns for the trajectory of America.
Richard, do you think it’s maybe a little awkward to pile on to a woman who lived through a mass-murderous regime’s totalitarianism? As if people who’ve experienced history for real instead of in the fever dream theories of academics and activists have no wisdom to share?
Not one little bit. The US is not Maoist China. Repeat as needed. I have a few years on you. Growing up in Seattle during the 60’s Albert Canwell was still a big part of the political landscape. My Father was a UW student during the pre-WWII years and knew some of the professors and several students and other politically involved types (friends & neighbors) dragged through this nonsense. Guess what? Canwell-style anti-communist hysteria remains alive and well, it’s adherents even sell hoodies
Thanks for this. I lived in China 1979.
This was an excellent conversation. Thank you.
Fantastic interview!
Her fifteen minutes are nearly up. What a confused paranoiac.
