Claims I'm hearing are: Refugees, families who've been lawfully resettled here, (invited by the USA) & who have fled persecution, and are legally going thru the process of getting their green cards ( ...which are obtained 1 yr after arrival) and yet... ICE is showing up at their doors, detaining them and possibly deported.

World Relief, for example, is claiming this: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1318573363412903

Might you consider interviewing an organization like World Relief?

This is strictly a propaganda outlet. “Dad” has a christian™️ nationalist agenda and is a fearsome red baiter and disinformation entrepreneur. There is no room on his channel for anything else.

I'm just hoping for John's further examination on who is actually being apprehended by ICE. Getting insight on these real facts is challenging... everything is skewed. So, engaging with a group that works with immigration was a sincere request.

And I took time to make such request because... I would not agree that this "outlet" is propaganda - that seems overly harsh.

Scroll through a year or two of “Dad’s” thumbnails. Alarmist, exaggerated, fear mongering. See for yourself. Then start counting the times he uses terms like “woke”, “radical feminism”, “Marxism” and the recently favored (by John himself) “commie”. If he were to respond at all to your not at all unreasonable request he likely would explain that World Relief is, like the UN, the Federal Reserve, the CDC, and countless other entities part of the a great plot against “patriots”, real americans®️, and christians™️. Like “Dad” himself.

You're using Christian Nationalist as a pejorative to ignore having to address any of the statements. We see the manipulation for what it is. If you can't address the arguments, then you can be dismissed, as you dismiss others.

Another well thought out, well-presented video. My thoughts on this follow yours, and then you expand reasoning beyond my thought-capacity. You really do a great job of spelling out how immigration has changed and how to bring it back to a constructive, useful way for new immigrants to live, prosper, contribute and believe in the American way.

Watched your YouTube video "I Used to Support Open Borders. The I Looked at the Data." Very well done. So much so that I've subscribed to your Substack. I very much look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

Countries need borders, and wealthy countries like the United States need tall borders. Now, third-world hells, on the other hand, don’t need borders. Their people are the deterrent. Nobody wants to live in chaos. Nobody is taking the family on vacation to the Haitian sunshine, and nobody is trying to move to Lima, Lagos, or Islamabad.

I know it’s not fair. None of it is fair. I can’t make it fair. And if you try, you’ll be taken advantage of. Not all cultures are equal, regardless of what the Queer Studies major will tell you. Some cultures explore space, and others still throw spears. It’s just the way it is. It’s nothing personal. Developed countries like the United States have not only the right but the obligation to maintain their quality of life for the people who walk on the shoulders of those who sacrificed to have it.

John, do you have hats? If you had a Dad Saving America hat, I’d buy one. If you want help making merch, hit me up. I’d love to help just for fun.

Thanks again John for another excellent video.

To you request for comments. I think I'm pretty much with you on most things on this one. Where we differ is on the ability to vote/hold office. I do not want to set up a case of a 2-tier citizenship. Once a citizen, you get all of the rights and privileges that go with the responsibilities. However, prior to that, no, you don't get to vote or hold public office.

Now, we can certainly debate the path one must take as well as the length of time it should take to move through the system of being an immigrant, to attaining a "Green card" and finally citizen.

While I agree with the concept that the US government shouldn't be under any obligation to provide a welfare to an immigrant upon arrival, and a sponsor system does sound good, I wonder about the practicality of bringing in someone that is unable to provide for themselves, at the onset, and the likelihood of that person obtaining their ability to survive through illegal means. Would we not be encouraging a level of crime by creating the scenario of taking in someone that is fleeing a bad situation and cannot reasonably have a stockpile of wealth to survive the early years of immigration? This would not apply to all immigrants but it would apply to some. This country should be seen as a place that is better than where you came from and there should be a means for that immigrant to leave a bad situation and create a good one here.
