The only data center proposal that I know about closely is a proposal to convert a 15 year vacant 870,000 sq foot ex carpet facility on over 1000 acres of land in rural Georgia. So do you wait until large scale manufacturing comes back in rural areas, or do you convert these properties into data centers?

The US has came from “The” Super Power of WW II who lead the World in everything to a consumer, service based Nation that is dependent on other countries for almost everything even our medicine.
The US has less the 1% of the of World’s commercial shipping by tonnage. Only about 9% of the total number of commercial ships. Those US-Flagged ships are mostly used to haul cargo and fuel to our US ports outside of the Continental United States.
Remember Desert Shield/Storm (DS/DS) 1990-91? Our Military is about 30% to 40% smaller today.
All most every country in the World leased commercial ships the US Military for DS/DS. There was no enemy air or sea threat. Maritime insurance was not a problem. We sent 500K US Military personnel with their equipment and with 60 days of supply.
Did you know? Iran is about 92 times bigger than Kuwait. Iran is approximately 1,648,195 sq km, while Kuwait is approximately 17,818 sq km.
Iran is half the size of the Continental US.
Wonder why we have a very small contingent of ground forces in the Persian Gulf? American people can no longer handle war loses and logistically hard to get the commercial shipping to move the huge force of ground forces with their stuff.

At the end of WW II we had 12.2 million US military in uniform with a population of 140 million.
Today we have about 1.3 million Active Duty military and 1.1 million Reserve & Guard for 2.5 million in uniform with a population 342 million.
Did you know California is not connected to the Texas and Midwest pipelines because of the Rocky Mountains and California’s restrictions on emissions is causing California refineries to close and move operations to other States. California is an “Energy Island” that is setting on its own oil but buys refined fuel products from China and other countries. California is critical for seaports, military bases, etc. Absolute idiots running California.
Now we have ill informed Americans that fall right into the Communist plan by complaining about Data Centers and slowing the building process.
What if China controls the Data of the 21st Century?
America needs to lead the way in Energy, Transportation, Technology, Manufacturing, and Medical or fall in to the Communist trap.
