Warren Farrell Explains Why Sons Need Their Dads

Written by Dad Saves America | Jun 30, 2022 11:00:00 PM

What’s going on with American boys these days? Why are they falling behind girls in education, health, and career prospects?

In this full episode of Dad Saves America, John sits down with Dr. Warren Farrell. Dr. Farrell is a political scientist and activist who has been studying these issues for decades. He started his career as a board member for the National Organization for Women, and is the only man to have served three terms in that position.

His 2018 book, The Boy Crisis, argues for the importance of strong father figures in a contemporary culture that often ignores them. As Dr. Farrell says, "The Boy Crisis resides where dads do not reside." In other words, although fathers who are present in the lives of their children can have plenty of shortcomings, the boys who struggle the most severely are those who are deprived of a consistent and reliable father-figure. That is the heart of the Boy Crisis.

Join John and Dr. Warren Farrell as they discuss how we can better meet the developmental needs of boys and empower both men and women without unfairly blaming one another.
