Meet Mike Yates

Mike Yates has some wisdom to share. Whether he’s making pizza with his family on a Friday night or reminiscing about his favorite children’s book, Mike’s passion for fatherhood is unmistakable.

As an educator, Mike consistently pushes back against age-old assumptions and has amassed tons of hands on experience, helping him develop curriculums and programs filled with unconventional ideas on how teachers can best serve students. We sat down with Mike to uncover how his personal journey inspired his commitment to improve school for all kids. Just as he strives to revolutionize education so that the needs of students can finally be met, Mike uses insights from his own childhood to make sure that his children will flourish.

Mike is currently the Senior Managing Director of Network Strategy at the Reinvention Lab of Teach For America and has a podcast called Schoolish.
