Enjoyed this! Btw I hate the Colbert joke, “reality has a well known liberal bias.” That’s a pilfered line from Thatcher about conservativism

Why are we in this upsidedown reality? One reason (among many): Classical liberalism died in the universities decades ago.

“Our reverence for the truth might be a distraction that’s getting in the way of finding common ground and getting things done.”

Naomi Oreskes, a science historian and prominent climate alarmist, last year proposed to close the IPCC's scientific working group. As she believes there's enough evidence now of the dramatic state of the global climate - as if one climate exists - and that it was not necessary to wait for further final evidence which would underwrite monumental climate measures i.e. economic measures and gov control. What was really biting her of course was the slow death of the height of climate alarmism and hyperbole. By cutting away the science (even the IPCC isn't as alarmist as the average media coverage is) she tried to salvage the state of panic that is typically expressed via the other IPCC working groups which are much more political.
